My dad fought in Korea. He was an Industrial Engineer. He returned home mentally ill. In the 60’s,my parents were antiwar educators + organizers. After the Watts Riots, my dad volunteered 3yrs in a factory employing veterans, ex-cons+colored men making miniature baseball bats to help rebuild the thriving community where I once played with kids of all races. They also left Judaism for the newly formed Unitarian Universalist Church. I soon fell in love w/anatomy, dance, poetry, politics, activism!
